Evidence: No study measures the effect of a particular welcome protocol. The Index for Inclusion (Booth & Ainscow, 2002) is a self-review guide for schools, and the UNESCO guide (2017) proposes reviewing welcome procedures as part of inclusion. Epstein (2011) describes how school-family collaboration is associated with greater family involvement; association is not cause.
