Who writes inklui, who it is for, what its limits are and how it is sustained. No small print.
Mission
That a family or a teacher who has just met a learning need can reach a useful tool or guide. That they do it within minutes, without paying or signing up, and with its source in plain sight.
What inklui is
inklui is a platform of resources and tools for inclusive education. It organises evidence-based materials by educational profile and makes them available to teachers and families in three languages.

inklui does not diagnose or replace professionals. It does not offer clinical or therapeutic advice. It is an educational support resource, not a health service.

Who it is for
Four kinds of reader, and only with what the site offers today.
- Families
- First steps after a diagnosis, rights, ready-made visual schedules, letters and a report for school, and guides to understanding your child.
- Teachers
- Classroom tools (schedules, timers, rules, visual supports) and classroom resources with their scientific source.
- SEN and speech-language staff
- A decision tree to guide the educational response and a planner, plus the profiles and tools.
- Guidance and school teams
- A shared starting point for the whole staff, explained on the page for schools.
How it is funded
Today inklui is a personal project with no legal entity behind it: one person writes and maintains it. There is no hired team and no organisation backing it.
Using inklui generates no income: there is no advertising, no affiliate links, no donations and no fees from visitors.
If it ever receives support (a grant, a collaboration), it will follow the rules on the independence page and be stated here clearly.
Who is behind it
inklui is created by Maider García Llorente, a teacher of Primary Education, Special Education (PT) and English. Digital badge “Universal Design in Teaching and Learning” from Ireland’s National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, 2026, 25 learner hours. Instructional designer at NLN Dublin, where she worked in special education with adults with intellectual disabilities. She works in four languages: Basque, Spanish, English and Portuguese.

How we work, and independence
- Tools with evidence cite the research behind them (not all do yet), and the library only includes titles with a checkable source.
- Pictograms come from ARASAAC, the Aragon Government pictogram bank (CC BY-NC-SA); profiles follow DSM-5 criteria and current legislation (the education act, LOMLOE).
- What has not been checked yet is said so: the accessibility page also lists what is missing.
Timeline
Milestones you can check in the project history.
- First record of the website code (first commit in the repository).
- The seven printable tools become downloadable, and every sheet that leaves inklui carries a QR code back to the tool.
- The site receives 82 Basque translations that its author had already approved.
- The suggestion box opens: an email and a text, delivered to the author.
- Accessibility review with the automated tool axe: from 401 violations to zero across the 117 pages checked (WCAG 2.2 AA). An automated check does not replace testing with real users.
- New visual identity (teal, sand and amber) and a single light theme across the site.
- Audit of all 59 tools; downloadable sheets now carry a footer and QR code.
- Start here is born: the site is organised by situation (diagnosis, visual schedule, school meeting, teaching).
- Each page now loads only the styles it needs, and this page is rebuilt to explain who is behind inklui and how it is sustained.
